About Camp Kianinny
Location
Camp Kianinny is situated at Kianinny Bush Cottages, in Tathra, NSW.
Camp Kianinny is located in close proximity to some of the NSW Sapphire Coast’s most stunning National Parks & only 3 km from Tathra Beach, making us the perfect choice for a school camp on the coast! We have 100 acres on the property, & our very own private dam. We are situated only a 3 hour drive from the ACT and situated in the middle of Sydney and Melbourne along the coast.
Why Choose Us?
At Camp Kianinny, we believe that the best learning happens outside the classroom. By combining thrilling outdoor adventures with intentional moments of reflection, we help students build positive relationships, develop self-confidence, and gain a deep respect for their peers and the environment. Every experience we create is designed to challenge students physically, socially, emotionally, and intellectually, while fostering lifelong maturity and personal growth.
Our programs naturally encourage teamwork, creative problem-solving, and strong communication. Backed by an experienced team of instructors, our activities blend high energy fun with specific educational frameworks. Every school is unique, which is why we work closely with you to customise our wide range of onsite and offsite activities, creating a tailored itinerary that matches your school’s unique values and goals.

Our mission is to support your students as they face new challenges and learn to collaborate with their peers.
A Dedicated Host for Your Stay Our versatile team works collaboratively to deliver high-quality, seamless programs. To ensure your school’s unique needs are always met, your group will be assigned a designated host. Your host will be with you every step of the way, ensuring both students and teachers are comfortable, supported, and enjoying an exceptional stay.
Sustainability at Camp Kianinny
Solar Energy
At Kianinny we do our best to have a low carbon footprint. In September 2019 we had 110 solar panels installed to provide clean electricity to all the cottages. We had an additional 220 panels installed in 2022, and again more were installed in 2024. We plan to continue installing more to power your accommodation with clean, natural energy generated from the sun.
Incredible Composting System
We love living in the Bega Valley & enjoy the beautiful & pristine environment that the Far South Coast has to offer. Join us by helping with our FOGO System we have in place, here at camp.
What is FOGO?
It is Food Organics Garden Organics. It is a new, innovative way to manage food waste to reduce the environmental impact of sending it to landfill. With FOGO, you can put food waste including raw and cooked food and eggshells into bins with organic waste (please no meat products or bones). We then turn what goes into the bins into high quality compost at our compost area. FOGO saves on landfill and gives us all the opportunity to be smarter with waste! This project is supported by the Environmental Trust as part of the NSW EPA’s Waste Less, Recycle More initiative, funded from the waste levy. We love that our campers help us with this system here at camp! www.begavalley.nsw.gov.au/waste.
Who Gives a Crap Toilet Paper
At Camp Kianinny we use 100% recycled toilet paper from ‘Who Gives a Crap’. Who Gives a Crap donates 50% of profits to build toilets in the developing world. Good for your bum, Great for the world! We love that the thousands of children that we have go through our camps each year help to contribute to this wonderful cause! Who Gives a Crap.
